Date: May 12, 2016
Purpose of the Workshop:
The purpose of this 1st workshop was to identify technical problems that occur when ODS servers access MDF files and to find potential solutions. Participants presented current uses of MDF-files within their company, described their issues in conjunction with ODS servers, and described existing or desired solutions.
The workshop was followed by an open discussion to find the best possible solution which would be supported by the majority of participants. Three major action items have been identified:
With respect to item 1, the participants determined the details of a project proposal for developing a virtual server software component at ASAM. Item 2 is currently taken care of by the Eclipse openMDM project. Item 3 will be further handled by a follow-up workshop. For further details, please see the notes in the documents "Open Discussion" and "Next Steps".
