Service-oriented communication has become an important basis for automotive software architecture. And its importance will further increase in the coming years. This creates a great need for APIs that enable and facilitate test and validation of services and their communication. In order to meet these needs, ASAM XIL shall be extended to allow access to service-oriented communication: 1.) Access to data via services, based on a provider - consumer concept 2.) Use of the services by any application (also outside XIL) 3.) Ensuring autonomous services (independence of other services). This concept project is the preparation for the subsequent development project.

Software debugging as well as measurement data acquisition and calibration are essential techniques used during all stages of electronic control unit (ECU) development. Version 1.0 of the Software Debugging over XCP standard defined methodologies enabling debugging over XCP for microcontrollers which are widely used in the automotive domain. Meanwhile also ARM based microcontrollers are emerging in the automotive domain. The standard shall now be extended to also cover those devices.

An ODD (Operational Design Domain) defines the environment and conditions a vehicles can safely operate in. This includes weather, road surface and type and a myriad of other factors. ASAM OpenODD aims to define a format that can represent an abstract ODD defined for a vehicle. The ASAM OpenODD format will be designed to be machine processable throughout the vehicle development and lifecycle.

This project aims to initiate the development of an ASAM Open Ontology that shall provide a foundation of common definitions, properties, and relations for central concepts of the ASAM OpenX standards, including OpenDRIVE, OpenSCENARIO, OpenLABEL and others.
