The purpose of the concept project is to evaluate and to conceptually specify feature requests for the further development of ASAM OpenDRIVE. The expert community has identified and prioritized eight features for which this project shall develop concepts for standardization. In case that the concept development requires increased resources and more time, then this project might spawn additional concept projects by creating the required project proposals. The concepts shall then be incorporated into the future version of ASAM OpenDRIVE 2.0.

The project's main goal is to transfer the OpenDRIVE public specification to ASAM, to clarify, enhance and add content to the specification document, and to release the specification as an ASAM public standard. The transfer to ASAM ensures vendor-independent further development and long-term maintenance of the standard.

The goal of this transfer project is to create the first version of ASAM OpenSCENARIO on a quality- and completeness-level that is expected from a public standard and from ASAM members. This also includes work on a technical level to complete and enhance the currently existing specification documents, to clarify open issues and to fill specification gaps, which might be brought up by project group members during the project term.

Debugging and tracing enables efficient development, integration, optimization and verification of software. For analyzing several aspects - especially timing aspects - it becomes essential to link the debugging and tracing data to the scheduling of the system. It is proposed to create a new set of data exchange formats called "ASAM Run-Time Interface" (ARTI), which shall simplify debugging & tracing software modules and analyzing their real time behavior.

This project is the follow-up of the Concept Project P2017-01. The strong interdependencies between ECUs, particularly in the areas of ADAS and autonomous driving, require a sophisticated HEX-file management, which helps engineers to choose the correct HEX-files to be flashed in ECUs that functionally fit to the other ECUs of the system. The goal of this project is to systematically determine matching HEX-files of a complex E/E system and to link development artefacts to specific HEX-files.
