ASAM e.V. (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems) has elected a new Board of Directors on March 7, 2017.

For the next two years, Marc Blatter (Daimler AG, Chairman of the Board), Dr. Ralf Noerenberg (HighQSoft GmbH), Prof. Dr. Marcus Rieker (HORIBA Europe GmbH), Armin Rupalla (RA Consulting GmbH) and Richard W. Vreeland (Cummins Inc.) are going to take over the board activities for the standardization organization which specializes in the development of electronic control units. The common goal of the board members is to intensify internationalization, to stimulate international collaboration within working groups and to advance standardization also in new technological areas of the Automotive Industry.

ASAM is particularly active in the development and testing of vehicles. The standards define protocols, data models, data formats, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). They are used for the development and Validation of electronic control units and other vehicle components in the Automotive Industry. Interfaces in development process chains are unified in order to enable a seamless data exchange. The most important tool vendors in the areas of Simulation, Measurement, Calibration, and test automation have implemented ASAM standards in their tools.
