Dr. Klaus Estenfeld has been awarded honorary membership of ASAM e.V.

At the ASAM General Assembly 2023, Dr. Klaus Estenfeld has been awarded honorary membership of ASAM e.V. With this award, ASAM honors its former Managing Director for his dedication and achievements in promoting ASAM and its standards.

On March 21, 2023, Dr. Klaus Estenfeld has been awarded honorary membership of ASAM e.V. during the ASAM General Assembly. With this award, ASAM honors Dr. Estenfeld for his commitment and achievements in promoting ASAM and its standards.

From 2016 to 2022, Dr. Klaus Estenfeld served as Executive Director of ASAM e.V. and as Managing Director of ASAM Japan G.K. During this time, he drove the internationalization of ASAM, especially in Japan, China, and the USA. He entered into a partnership with CATARC ADC in China and established the C-ASAM working group.

In 2017, he initiated the transfer of the ASAM OpenX standards to ASAM thus constituting the new standardization domain "Simulation", which has since been a great success, attracting many new and active members.

During his time as Managing Director, membership has more than doubled from 172 member organizations in 2016 to 430 member organizations by the end of 2022. It is also due to this growth, that ASAM has today a solid financial basis and the highest budget for technical projects since its foundation.

Armin Rupalla, member of the Board of Directors, delivered the laudatory speech. On the basis of the proposal by the Board, the members approved the honorary membership for Dr. Klaus Estenfeld.
