ASAM ODS Cross Test Shows Growth and International Recognition of ASAM ODS

Seven client and five server manufacturers followed the invitation of the ASAM ODS work group to test interoperability of their ASAM ODS compliant products. All in all 5 new products have been tested (among them 3 new servers) with two manufacturers coming from Greece and India.

The ASAM ODS Cross Test 2014 took place in Munich on November 12-13. Seven manufacturers of ASAM ODS compatible client software and five manufacturers of ASAM ODS servers followed the invitation of the ASAM ODS work group to meet in the BMW Group training academy in Unterschleißheim to test the interaction of their programs based on the current ASAM ODS standard. These Cross Tests are held on a regular basis and allow the testing of different client-server combinations to ensure that customer implementations of the ASAM ODS technology work seamlessly.

Five new products took part in this year's Cross Test. The international adaptation of the ASAM ODS standard was underlined by participants from India and Greece.

The aim of the tests on the first day was to examine the interaction of the individual products, while the second day focused on a list of systematic function tests between clients and servers. The results of the different tests were discussed within the group.

The openness of participants to compare implementation details of the ASAM ODS standard in rivaling products made this another successful ASAM ODS Cross Test event. Special thanks go to the BMW Group for their excellent organization of the event.
