NEW STANDARD: ASAM ARTI V1.0.0

The Technical Steering Committee has released a new ASAM standard: ASAM ARTI V1.0.0. This standard enables scheduling timing analysis on automotive real time operating systems.



The aim of the standard is to enable scheduling timing analysis on automotive real time operating systems. This requires the storage of the corresponding data in an exchange format. ASAM MDF is used for this purpose as exchange format. In addition to the trace data, the measurement configuration settings are saved as well. The standard is developed for ECUs that support the AUTOSAR Run-Time Interface.

The standard allows to evaluate the real time behaviour, which means that the knowledge about tasks, interruptions and functional elements is linked to the debugging and tracing data. This includes

  • Scheduling Trace Measurements stored in MDF
    • Efficient storage of timing and scheduling data with description
    • ARTI data can be related to other measurement data and tools
  • Standardized Scheduling Trace
    • Specification of a common scheduling trace format
    • Specification of standardized scheduling state machines
  • Standardized Timing Metrics Exchange
    • Storage of timing metric sample values (Time Series Data)
    • Storage of overall timing statistics

A good interaction of the tool chain provides complete round-trip engineering from model down to hardware and back, covering several software levels and several phases of the V-model.
