ASAM e.V., the leading organization for standardization in automotive development and testing, has elected a new Board of Directors for the term 2025 - 2027, reaffirming the strength of its leadership while welcoming new expertise to guide the organization into the future of mobility.

Four members of the recent Board have been re-elected, ensuring continuity and strategic stability for ASAM:

  • Dr. Andras Kemeny (Driving Simulation Association)
  • Prof. Dr. Frank Köster (DLR e.V.)
  • Dr. Ralf Nörenberg (HighQSoft GmbH)

René Grosspietsch of BMW Group, Board Member since 2021, did not run for office this year. ASAM expresses its deep appreciation for his years of service and dedication.

He is succeeded by Prof. Dr. Thomas Form, a distinguished figure in both academia and the automotive industry. Currently a professor at TU Braunschweig, Prof. Form brings decades of experience from his tenure at Volkswagen Group, where he served in various high-level roles since 2007, most recently as Senior Vice President Autonomous Driving (2020–2024). At the first meeting of the newly elected board, Armin Rupalla was reconfirmed as Speaker of the Board of Directors, continuing his leadership at a pivotal time for the mobility sector.

The new board will focus on strengthening ASAM’s role in emerging domains such as autonomous systems, Simulation, and software-defined vehicles, while continuing to build on its robust foundation in automotive electronics. Main purpose of all activities will remain  to enable interoperability and collaboration among all stakeholders.
