In May 2020, ASAM cracked the mark of 300 active member organizations. And within the last two months, another 20 companies have joined. This rapid member increase is to a large degree triggered by the new ASAM standardization domain "Simulation" which drives a new group of experts to ASAM. Remarkable: Many of the new members are from Europe, Asia and North America. Today, more than half of the member companies are from abroad: ASAM has grown into a truly international organization.
More than 300 organizations are currently active members of ASAM e.V. This means that the number of members has doubled since 2016. This fact is certainly due to the new standardization domain “Simulation” which attracted a group of engineers who had not heard of ASAM before. As a result, 75 companies joined ASAM in 2019. This year, already 42 new members have joined ASAM within the first six months.
Remarkable is also that by today, the share of international companies has picked up immensely. Only two years ago, German companies still represented half of the membership. Today, their share is has decreased to less than 45%. But this is not caused by the membership cancellations but rather by the fact that ASAM is becoming increasingly visible on an international platform and provides standards that are internationally needed and applied. ASAM has gained a reputation as a professional standardization organization with fast and flexible processes and reliable, up-to-date standards.
