HTTP alone cannot support many real-world remote diagnostic scenarios. Based on work in the Gaia-X 4 AGEDA research project, this publication evaluates MQTT, SSH reverse tunnels, WebSockets, and VPNs as connectivity mechanisms for ASAM SOVD. The findings highlight MQTT as a scalable and secure option while underscoring that different use cases require different approaches.
