The usage of Simulation in development, evaluation and even Homologation is close at hand. While the Simulation landscape complexity increases, standards become more and more important. Both, for shaping interoperable Simulation modules and for unifying input formats and quantifiable quality metrics for Simulation results. The ASAM OpenX-Standards are formulated to serve that purpose. Yet, the number of different aspects covered by this Standard family is growing as well. Thus, an open source software, implementing all of the OpenX-standards is a valuable tool for a) testing new standards (e.g. OpenMATERIAL) or new releases of established standards (e.g. OpenDRIVE, OpenSCENARIO) according to their applicability and b) integrating separate Simulation modules and assess them against reference implementations. Both of these Simulation applications are covered by the open source Simulation framework GEMSTAR. The basic modules of this framework were successfully developed and applied in projects such as Gaia-X 4 PLC AAD, VVMethods, SetLevel and SYNERGIES. Project participants of the SetLevel project such as BMW, Bosch, IPG Automotive and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), worked on a common understanding and architecture for traffic simulations. GEMSTAR was based on the agreed structures right from the beginning of its development. Hence, modularity and flexibility due to a thorough usage of Simulation standards is a core principle for the GEMSTAR implementation.
