Validating automated vehicles is a great challenge. This challenge is therefore often decomposed into many smaller problems, e.g., assessing a specific scenario in a specific test setup. The solutions to the small problems, however, are various puzzle pieces that need to be assembled. We show how machine learning and techniques from the field of motion prediction can serve as part of a Validation strategy. As a result, we can significantly accelerate quantitative risk analyses and, putting the puzzle pieces together, create evidence for the release of automated vehicles.
