With the goal of lowering the entry threshold for other organizations such as ASAM, open-source communities, universities and start-ups, AUTOSAR will provide an open vehicle API. This includes the ASAM SOVD interface, but also paves the way for combining AUTOSAR systems with Simulation environments such as ASAM open Simulation Interfaces. In addition, the vehicle API can also be used to collect traffic data for ASAM open Drive or 3D road surface data for ASAM open CRG. Based on these use cases, we finally can show the big picture of the Vehicle OS at the DevOps cycle.
