Safety standards such as SOTIF and legal regulations give driving Simulation a key role for the safety Validation of automated driving functions. This and the evolvement of new language standards raise two major challenges for translation tools for driving Simulation languages: (1) adaptability to new languages, and (2) correctness of translations. We present a solution inspired by compiler design: a first translation semantics of driving Simulation languages and a suiting research prototype of a retargetable translator supporting ASAM OpenDRIVE and other description formats.
