The Navigation Data Standard (NDS) Association was founded in 2009 with the goal of creating a standardized map interface for automotive ecosystems. In 2019, the NDS Association began to work on a new version of the standard called NDS.Live to support HD maps e.g. for automated driving. NDS.Live is a distributed map data service, compared to its predecessor NDS.Classic which is a database. In our presentation we will introduce to NDS.Live and its agile development process. We also show how NDS and ASAM OpenDRIVE maps are used together by vehicle manufacturers to test solutions for automated driving.
