The key to reducing unreasonable risk due to a hazard, is to evaluate the performance of autonomous driving under known hazard scenarios. In this context, accident scenarios are one of the most common hazard scenarios. Autonomous driving can be optimized by testing its ability in reproduced accident scenario.
CAERI developed a tool to transfers raw accident data into ASAM OpenX scenarios. A Simulation platform and a vehicle-in-loop Simulation platform automatically evaluate autonomous driving performance and support iterative development. In this presentation, we introduce techniques of automatic accident transfer, parallel Simulation, and vehicle-in-loop testing.
