The concept Operational Design Domain is prominent in the domain of automated driving but as currently there is no Standard available yet, the term is used ambiguously. Different stakeholders such as developers, validators and public authorities need a clear and processable description and need to have the same understanding of the content. Standardization in general is a guarantor for high-quality, regulator-compliant applications. A jointly developed Standard together with publicly available test suites and reference implementations ensures a widely accepted and well-defined approach.
