Most imc data acquisition systems can be equipped with CAN and CAN-FD interface modules. Each module usually has 2 CAN nodes on DSUB-9.
They perform embedded complex protocol decoding tasks, even in standalone applications without any PC. Such functions include support for multiple high-level protocols such as CCP, XCP and UDS. The respective file exchange standards like A2L and DBC can be handled using the operating software imc STUDIO.
Additionally, the modules can log the complete bus traffic and optionally embed the decoding information ("frame description blob"). This enables very easy application of subsequent "imc STUDIO BusDecoder" processing concepts. Such encapsulation avoids any inconsistencies between log files and the respective decoding information, while still allowing to use a differing decoding file if necessary.
Decoding can be performed live during the measurement by the PC using imc STUDIO, or offline using FAMOS.
