Autonomous vehicles will shift paradigms in safety, efficiency and performance. However, one factor which affects all three areas is cybersecurity.
The autonomous vehicle industry will experience an explosion in complexity. This means millions of lines of code, cross-industry technology convergence and longer development lifecycles. Key enablers of autonomy such as connectivity and AI mean that constantly changing systems will be open to malicious influence. The autonomous vehicle will be harder to test, to assure, to maintain and the data therein harder to handle.
This talk will discuss the importance in security of using Simulation to decrease development time, as well as the role that standards (such as OpenX standards) can play to ensure that products are engineered securely.
