SePIA – Scenario-based Platform for the Inspection of Automated Driving Functions

Dietmar Bönninger, FSD Fahrzeugsystemdaten GmbH – Zentrale Stelle

Currently, there are no generally accepted test- and inspection concepts suitable for the Homologation process or the periodic technical inspection of motor vehicles with highly automated driving functions.

The main objective of "SePIA" is the development and exemplary construction of a complex Validation platform for vehicles with automated driving functions and for electronic subsystems. For this purpose, real driving scenarios and comprehensive accident data as well as information from accident reconstruction reports are used.

Reliable safety Verification for automated vehicles requires new harmonized methods, e.g. Simulation of relevant scenarios and driving tests on test tracks.
