Kick-off Workshop
ASAM OpenDRIVE and ASAM OpenCRG
OpenDRIVE® is an open File Format for the logical description of road networks. It is intended for vehicle and traffic Simulation and used for the functional Validation of driving maneuvres. OpenDRIVE® was developed and maintained by a team of Simulation professionals with large support from the Simulation industry.
OpenCRG® defines a Data Model for the detailed description of road surfaces for use in simulators. It is suitable for a broad range of applications including tire and driving simulations. OpenCRG® is to be understood as a complementary Standard to OpenDRIVE®.
The core teams around OpenDRIVE® and around OpenCRG® have decided to transfer the standards to ASAM in order to ensure an independent further development and long-lasting maintenance of the standards. To start standardization activities, ASAM has hosted a Kick-off Workshop on Oct 09 - 10, 2018 to identify topics that require further development of the standards.
