ASAM ODS cross test 2026 & Python hackathon

ASAM is bringing the ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS community, vendors, users, core developers, and data scientists, together to collaborate face-to-face, validate implementations, and strengthen the ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS ecosystem. This year, we will have two parallel tracks, the ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS cross test and a Python hackathon.
ASAM ODS cross test
The cross test provides a unique platform for vendors and users of ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS solutions to test and verify the interoperability of Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS servers and ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS clients across different implementations. Participants work closely together to identify differences in data formats, resolve interpretation issues, and discuss potential ambiguities in the A document, which describes in detail the interfaces and behavior of a technical system for the purpose of implementing, integrating and operating the system.Specification of the A public specification, which has been developed by experts in a defined consensus-driven development process and was released by officials that represent a significant share of the industry for which it is targeted, giving the specification the necessary legitimacy to be called a 'Standard'.Standard. This does not only enable participants to clarify implementation questions and interpretation issues directly with specialists but also provides valuable insights that directly feed into the ongoing development of the A public specification, which has been developed by experts in a defined consensus-driven development process and was released by officials that represent a significant share of the industry for which it is targeted, giving the specification the necessary legitimacy to be called a 'Standard'.Standard.
This year, the focus of the cross test will be on:
- Implementation and interoperability of the ASAM ODS HTTP API
- Compatibility and exchange of ATFX files
- Ensuring seamless cooperation between ODS products from different vendors
Python hackathon
Running alongside the cross test, a Python hackathon will provide participants with the opportunity to explore and utilize open-source Python libraries for accessing ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS servers.
As with the cross test, experts will be available to assist participants with questions related to Python, ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS interfaces, and the available libraries. The hackathon offers an excellent platform for both newcomers and experienced users to gain hands-on experience, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the further development of the ASAM Open Data Services (ASAM Standard)ODS ecosystem.
