ASAM started an alignment activity across all
ASAM OpenX standards on Dynamic Signals.
The first workshop took place on Oct 04,2022.
This activity also concerns ASAM OpenDRIVE
and includes representatives of the work group.

This project shall have two Standard releases:
ASAM OpenDRIVE V1.7.0 shall contain the implementation of the concept "Direct Links" (released concept). As this function is urgently requested by the community, V1.7.0 shall be released in the next TSC meeting in Jul 2021. The release shall also fix some ambiguities and errors.
Additional important functions from the ASAM OpenDRIVE Concept shall be implmented in ASAM OpenDRIVE V1.8.0:
(see project proposal for more details).
ASAM OpenDRIVE comprises a Specification, a style guide and a Schema for the logical description of road networks. It is intended for vehicle dynamics Simulation, traffic Simulation and sensor Simulation. ASAM OpenDRIVE is used in virtual development, test and Validation of driving assistance functionsas well as automated and autonomous driving. Within these use cases, ASAM OpenDRIVE files are describing road networks with respect to all data belonging to the road environment. They do not describe the entities acting on or interacting with the road. The standards ASAM OpenSCENARIO and ASAM OpenCRG supplement ASAM OpenDRIVE's content concerning scenario description and road surface description. The consolidated content of the three standards provides comprehensive input for the use-cases mentioned above.
