PTV Vissim provides a multimodal representation of a traffic environment and all relevant modes of transport like cars, trucks, pedestrians, bicycles, buses, trains etc. Based on scientifically proven behaviour models and the traffic rules, all entities in the simulation interact as intelligent agents with each other and the traffic environment to create a realistic traffic flow.
This traffic environment can be used as closed-loop test environment for vehicle development. Typical use cases are the development of ADAS functionalities (e.g. virtual test drives or scenario mining) or operating strategies for powertrains.
PTV Vissim offers powerful interfaces for script-based automation and for the integration with component models or detailed full vehicle models from other software in co-simulation. It can be integrated with HiL test benches as well.
PTV Vissim is also available as Kernel version as headless calculation core for Windows and Linux.
