Academics

Xihua University is a comprehensive university with subjects covering economics, management, science, engineering, liberal arts, fine arts and sports. At present, there are 91 undergraduate majors and more than 40,000 students on campus .
The university was founded in 1960 when it was named Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College. After 60 years of development, the university now has a number of innovative practice platforms and provincial key laboratories related to engineering research, philosophy and social sciences.
The team most closely associated with ASAM is the traffic safety research team affiliated to the School of Automobile and Transportation, Xihua University. They are mainly engaged in automotive passive and active safety research based on a large number of road traffic accident cases. Thousands of cases have now been collected, most of them with surveillance video specially. On top of this, a database of pre-crash scenarios that can be used for autonomous driving was built directed by National Automobile Accident In-depth Investigation System（NAIS）.
