The ASAP2 tool set contains seven command line tools for managing A2L files of all released versions and the ASAP2 Studio - an editor for visualizing and editing A2L files with a modern GUI.

Measuring, Calibrating and Logging ECUs and ADAS Sensors
Functionalities
CANape's primary area of application is optimal parameterization (calibration) of ECUs. While the measurement is running, you change parameters and record signals at the same time. Communication between CANape and the ECUs takes place via protocols such as XCP or via microcontroller-specific interfaces with the VX1000 hardware. In addition, CANape supports various ADAS sensors such as radar, LIDAR and video. Combined with powerful hardware, CANape is capable of storing several gigabytes of data per second. Calibration data management and convenient measurement data evaluation including data management and reporting make CANape a complete tool for ECU calibration. Of course, CANape provides access to bus, diagnostic and analog measurement data.

The Vector D-PDU API is a programming interface, standardized in ISO 22900-2, for accessing a Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI).
Vector D-PDU API abstracts from the underlying VCI, especially from implementation of the communication protocol (UDS and others).
The D-PDU API is especially designed for diagnostic and flash applications of any kind. An application based on this standardized interface therefore works with various VCIs from different suppliers.

DYNA4 is an open simulation environment for virtual test driving to facilitate safe and efficient function development and testing. The physical models include vehicle dynamics, powertrain, combustion engines, electric motors, sensors, and traffic. Closed-loop simulations on the PC run faster than in real-time, e.g. for use in early development stages (MIL, SIL), or can be executed on HIL systems when ECUs are available. DYNA4’s scenario simulation facilitates OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO as input formats for the static scene and the dynamic scenario, respectively.

MDF4 Validator is a freeware tool to validate and analyze the block structure of MDF files (3.x/4.x). It will check the loaded MDF file and display format errors and violations to the specification that disallow loading the file in Vector tools. Unusual or unsupported features are indicated as warnings. MDF Validator also shows the structure of the MDF blocks that contain the (meta) information about the measurement data, which helps exploring the file content and understanding the MDF format. Please note: MDF Validator is NOT able to display the measurement data itself, e.g. as a graphic curve representation. Use Vector vSignalyzer instead.

The package MICROSAR Classic XCP supports XCP communication with an XCP master on various communication topologies such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay or Ethernet. The physical calibration data is tracked within a data warehouse. Reports to track calibration maturity are available. As standalone application, vCDMstudio is the entry point to Vector’s calibration data management solution. vCDMstudio is an efficient tool for editing parameter set files. It is easily used to display, compare and edit parameters created in ECU calibration. When solving complex tasks, filters are used to reduce the number of parameters shown on the screen. In addition to calibrating parameter values you can take values from different files and merge them to create new version levels. In using vCDMstudio, you retain an overview of your work packages, reliably track parameter changes and manage data levels responsibly. Since all relevant file formats of the automotive industry are supported, it does not matter which measurement and calibration tool is used to generate the parameter files.
The local dataset management of vCDMstudio can be connected to the vCDM server database.

The VX1000 System is a scalable solution with top performance for your ECU measurement and calibration tasks. It can be used in the vehicle, on test benches and in the laboratory. The system forms the interface between the ECU and a measurement and calibration tool such as CANape. For high data throughput with minimal impact on ECU runtime, data is accessed over the microcontroller-specific data trace and debug ports. The VX1000 Base Module is connected to the computer over XCP on Ethernet. The VX1000 measurement hardware is connected to the ECU via a POD (Plug-On device). Since the system is connected to the debug port, XCP debugging is also supported.
