The Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a non-profit academic research body established in 1989 by the Greek Ministry of Education to carry out research and development activities in the area of telecommunications, systems and techniques, computer systems and their applications in wireless, mobile and satellite communications, software and hardware engineering, neural networks and Artificial Intelligent, telematics and multimedia applications, transport applications, , biomedical engineering and electric power (https://www.iccs.gr/en/). It is closely associated with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (SECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) (est. 1837), which is the oldest and most prestigious technical institute in Greece. The personnel of ICCS consists of academic staff (~80 University Professors), 40 senior researchers and more than 500 researchers (including PhD students) in twenty research laboratories.
Within ICCS, the I-SENSE Research Group (https://i-sense.iccs.gr/) is very active in areas dealing with Intelligent Transportation Systems, embedded systems, intelligent vehicles including automated driving, sensors and information fusion and communication technologies. I-SENSE group has been coordinating and actively participating in several related projects of H2020 (such as L3Pilot, IHEADSTART, CT4CART, SAFERtec, 5G-Mobix and CONCORDA), of 7th FWP (such as AdaptIVe, AutoNet2030, CityMobil2, VRA, TEAM, MOBiNET, COMPASS4D, Mobility2.0, PowerUp, interactIVe, MiniFaros, HAVEit, euroFOT, TeleFOT) and 6th FWP (such as AIDE, PReVENT, SAFESPOT).
