Via: Teams Meeting
The project ASAM OpenDRIVE V1.8.0 is a A public specification, which has been developed by experts in a defined consensus-driven development process and was released by officials that represent a significant share of the industry for which it is targeted, giving the specification the necessary legitimacy to be called a 'Standard'.Standard development project and aims at fixing ambiguities and errors in the released version of ASAM OpenDRIVE 1.6.0 which could not be fixed in the previous maintenance project, and at implementing concepts from the ASAM OpenDRIVE Concept Project (concept). The individual concepts that are to be implemented are detailed in the chapter "technical content" of the project proposal
Due to the fact that some features are urgently requested by the community it is proposed to have two A public specification, which has been developed by experts in a defined consensus-driven development process and was released by officials that represent a significant share of the industry for which it is targeted, giving the specification the necessary legitimacy to be called a 'Standard'.Standard releases in this project:
- OpenDRIVE 1.7.0 in July 2021
- OpenDRIVE 1.8.0 in November 2022

About ASAM OpenDRIVE
ASAM OpenDRIVE comprises a A document, which describes in detail the interfaces and behavior of a technical system for the purpose of implementing, integrating and operating the system.Specification, a style guide and a A formal definition of the structure and syntax of text files.Schema for the logical description of road networks. It is intended for vehicle dynamics Is the process of imitation of the behavior of a modeled real-world system over time.Simulation, traffic Is the process of imitation of the behavior of a modeled real-world system over time.Simulation and sensor Is the process of imitation of the behavior of a modeled real-world system over time.Simulation. ASAM OpenDRIVE is used in virtual development, test and The process of determining that a system performs and meets the needs for identified end users.Validation of driving assistance functionsas well as automated and autonomous driving. Within these use cases, ASAM OpenDRIVE files are describing road networks with respect to all data belonging to the road environment. They do not describe the entities acting on or interacting with the road. The standards ASAM OpenSCENARIO and ASAM OpenCRG supplement ASAM OpenDRIVE's content concerning scenario description and road surface description. The consolidated content of the three standards provides comprehensive input for the use-cases mentioned above.
