HPC Diagnostics - Proposal Workshop
ASAM invites you to the proposal workshop "HPC " on June 05, 2019 at ASAM in Höhenkirchen/Germany (near Munich). The workshop shall prepare the standardization of future Diagnostics systems for in-vehicle high performance computers (HPC). Those devices are primarily used as controllers for diagnostics, connected vehicle and autonomous driving functions. ADAS
The main goal of the workshop is to discuss and come to a common agreement on the future standardization of components for HPC . This includes diagnostic use-cases, supported network architectures and critical requirements to be considered by the upcoming diagnostics. We will discuss the actual components of the diagnostic system, which shall be standardized, and the standardization approach for them. You will have an opportunity to influence the upcoming standard from the onset, bringing in your own experiences, requirements or proposals for solutions. Upon request, ASAM makes a presentation slot available for you at the meeting (subject to availability). standard
Which problem shall be solved?
The primary focus of ECU diagnostic in today's vehicles is on checking the functionality of components, such as sensors, actuators and the ECU hardware. Diagnostic checks of the software are typically not included. HPCs have capabilities, which go far beyond those of conventional ECUs. HPCs offer multi-threading, dynamic memory management, virtualization, complex operating systems and high band-width remote communication. They execute application software, which is closer to the complexity of software running on a personal computer or server system. Furthermore, future HPC-based vehicles have the additional use-cases of onboard, proximity and remote . Today's standards for diagnostic services and protocols, such as the popular diagnostics UDS, do not cover the new diagnostic challenges of HPC systems. standard
What is the expected outcome of the workshop?
During the proposal workshop, the participants are given the opportunity to exchange their practical experiences, problems, requirements and potential solutions for HPC . The goal of the workshop is to come to an as broad as possible agreement among ASAM members on the standardization approach, requirements and expected content of the upcoming diagnostics. In the aftermath of the workshop, a project proposal will be created and submitted to ASAM. standard
Who should participate?
Technical experts and their immediate managers in the area of automotive HPC systems, definition and communication, diagnostics basic software components, diagnostic workshop equipment, or related areas, are welcome to participate at the workshop and to actively contribute. The workshop is highly relevant for experts involved in the diagnostics development for diagnostics and autonomous driving vehicles. You may forward this invitation to interested parties in your company. ADAS
