Great times at CES 2026!
We had so many good conversations with friends, partners, ASAM members, and new faces from across the industry. At our Bits, Bites & Insights event, we had the opportunity to present current standards and initiatives, like ASAM SOVD and ASAM DMS/VOMS, and to discuss how ASAM standards support development, testing, and operation of complex systems. It was great to bring that to a broader audience.
CES was also a great platform to bring standards such as ASAM OpenMATERIAL and ASAM OpenDRIVE to communities beyond automotive! From robotics and physical AI to humanoids, Advanced Driver-Assistance SystemsADAS, and autonomy, the discussions clearly showed how relevant standardized data, interfaces, and environments are well beyond traditional automotive applications.
A big thank you to everyone who joined, listened, and challenged us with great questions. To review the presentations and content, check out the links below.
Topics we talked about:
ASAM SOVD – data access to SDVs
Designed for The subsystem of an ECU or ECU networks, which performs error detection, handling and communication.Diagnostics – built for more! ASAM SOVD goes beyond traditional The subsystem of an ECU or ECU networks, which performs error detection, handling and communication.Diagnostics: it enables OTA updates, standardized access to in-vehicle The process of recording data from internal ECU memory and external sensors.Measurement data, and service-oriented interaction with passenger, commercial, agricultural, and any other type of vehicles.
As vehicles evolve more and more into IoT devices, the demand to efficiently diagnose both ECUs and HPCs grows. ASAM SOVD meets this need while simultaneously supporting additional functionalities like OTA software updates, fleet management, predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and secure software lifecycle management. It integrates seamlessly with existing protocols (e.g., Unified Diagnostic Services (ISO Standard)UDS) and uses modern web technologies (REST, JSON) for fast, flexible, and scalable access. Join us and learn how ASAM SOVD enables access to vehicle data.

ASAM DMS / VOMS
Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) help prevent accidents caused by driver fatigue, distraction, or other forms of impaired driving. ASAM’s standardization project aims to define a technology-agnostic, language-independent Application Programming InterfaceAPI and a machine-readable QA Is an abstract model that organizes data and how they relate to one another via formal description elements such as entities, attributes, relations and tables.Data Model for Vehicle Occupant Monitoring Systems (VOMS).
The upcoming A public specification, which has been developed by experts in a defined consensus-driven development process and was released by officials that represent a significant share of the industry for which it is targeted, giving the specification the necessary legitimacy to be called a 'Standard'.Standard will enable efficient toolchain integration, system interoperability, consistent testing, and innovation. It will provide a common framework to accelerate development, improve safety, and make high-quality driver monitoring solutions widely accessible. Join us and find out what you can expect.
