ASAM’s growing standardization landscape: From ODD and materials to testing and quality
Talk and technical workshop by Marius Dupuis, CEO at ASAM e.V.
at: ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Summit
on: Aug 27 - 28, 2025 | San Jose, CA, USA
We are happy to announce that Marius Dupuis, CEO at ASAM e.V. will speak and hold a technical workshp at ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Summit in North America:
Talk
The methods to develop and test ADAS and automated driving systems are continuously evolving. Principles like ODD and scenario coverage need languages that describe the respective artifacts. A variety of test environments needs to be blended with the best-fit test methods. And results of virtual testing will only be accepted if the underlying tools and methods provide sufficient quality and credibility. ASAM is addressing these topics with the release of new standards and by upgrading existing standards. This presentation shall give an overview of what has been achieved so far and what the near future will bring under the roof of ASAM.
Technical workshop "Operational Design Domains"
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn and understand how to define an operational design domain (ODD) and how to leverage it.
We will explore how to define the Operational Design Domain (ODD) — the set of conditions under which an automated driving system operates safely. We will examine its key building blocks, distinguish between safe, unsafe, and risky conditions, and practice creating ODD definitions using real-world examples. We will also discuss how ODDs support Simulation, scenario-based testing, and system Validation, and how they relate to broader Operational Domains (OD) and Current Operational Domains (COD).
