ASAM is known for its commitment to improving data exchange in the automotive sector through its standards. However, interoperability issues persist among users due to ambiguities and varying levels of implementation in ASAM standards. To address this, ASAM proposes the development of a "Quality Checker Framework" that will allow users to ensure conformity with ASAM standards. This framework will be versatile, supporting various standards and allowing users to create custom rule sets for quality assessment. It aims to cover formal correctness, geometry, physical properties, data integrity, and more.
ASAM plans to provide a base set of checks for standards, including ASAM OpenDRIVE, ASAM OpenSCENARIO, and ASAM OTX Extensions, to reduce ambiguity. Users can also employ user-defined checks, and the framework will offer configuration management and result reporting. The project will result in an open-source framework and checker rules, promoting greater adoption and understanding of ASAM standards.
65 participants from over 50 different companies took part in the proposal workshop for the proposed ASAM Quality Checker project.
