The ASAM OSI Project is considering the switch to Flatbuffers  for ASAM OSI 4.0 to potentially improve performance. This is critical for Real-Time and above-Real-Time applications but also for models beyond pure object-list transfers. The real performance benefit of Flatbuffers can only be evaluated with feedback from people who have real deployments of ASAM OSI.  This proposal workshop was set up to discuss the usage of Flatbuffers for version 4.0. and to collect feedback on performance and other implications before the switch is made.
