ASAM OpenX standards for off-road applications
Ideation workshop
Feb 23, 2023 | 10:00 - 16:00 CET
Online event
To date, the development of ASAM’s standards within the Simulation domain has been driven by the need in the automotive industry for solutions to test and develop on-road ADAS/AD functions. However, we see a strong potential in the use of these standards for other applications, outside of the on-road driving domain, particularly as scenario-based and/or Simulation-based testing become more prevalent. Such applications include operation of autonomous heavy machinery in landfill, construction, agriculture or mining as well as other types of machinery, e.g. autonomous logistics operation or ground-based maneuvering of aircraft etc.
ASAM would like to invite you to a workshop to begin investigating the use of OpenX standards for off-road driving applications. This includes a joint discussion on the current pain points in the respective industries, how ASAM standards could resolve these, as well as which requirements these industries may have towards the standards that are not yet fulfilled. It is our goal to increase awareness of the availability of these standards and their uses.
As an interested party we would like you to ask yourself a few questions such as: What do you want to achieve using OpenX standards? What problems do you want to solve? Do you have some experiences in trying to apply our standards already? How are you using OpenX standards right now?
If you are willing to share some of the answers or some other ideas you may have for the use of ASAM OpenX standards in the off-road domain, please mark the according field during the registration process or contact sachin.shukla(at)asam.net directly. We still have some slots available in the agenda.
