Content

OTX (Open Test eXchange) format is an exchange format for test sequences and standardized by ISO 13209 in 2012.

It is targeted primarily at the automotive industry, although the core features of the standard are applicable in any industry. Such test sequences are used in development, production and after sales and can be exchanged between vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers and tool providers

The standard consists of a core and an extension concept, which allows the integration of different interfaces. Extensions for Diag Com, Flash, Eventhandling and Measurement are standardized within the ISO

Based on this extensions a usage of the MVCI Server (ISO 22900-3 also known as ASAM MCD-3 D Server API) is simplified, because many implementation steps are hidden.

In the meantime, more and more applications grow up, which use OTX for the describing of test sequences (e.g., Diagnostic jobs are replaced). Based on the market experience some common tasks should be also harmonized to ensure the exchangeability of the OTX files.

ASAM OTX can be seen as a strategic migration platform for different ASAM areas. Therefore, it is not restricted for diagnostic sequences. Also, automation sequences which require the access to arbitrary devices via ASAM GDI or test cases, which use XIL components, can be written respectively in OTX.

The result of this project should be integrated in the ISO standard (may be by a revision or additionally ISO parts).

Beside the extension definition also some interpretation issues shall be clarified and some gaps in the standard should be closed.

  • Browsing Database Objects (DiagDataBrowsing+)
  • Common Dialogs
  • DiagCom for DoIP, Hex and functional addressing
  • Generic/Native Dynamic Library Call Interface
  • Assertion Library
  • Meta Information
  • ResultHandling
  • ZipHandling
  • Bus Monitoring (This extension is optional and can only be realized if enough time is available)

The development for the OTX-Extensions shall be carried out within the ASAM organization. The results shall then be transferred to ISO to be included in ISO 13209 at a later time.
