The new version ASAM iLinkRT V3.0.0 was released in November. Due to the large number of new, supported capabilities and the fact that this protocol is positioned as the successor of
ASAP 3, it is expected to be widely used in the market. Any problems, difficulties in understanding and possible ambiguities that may arise shall be solved within this maintenance project.
Rudimentary cross tests with demo clients and demo servers to test basic functionalities were already carried out as part of the
standard development project. In this maintenance project, cross tests shall be carried out with real products from participating companies.
ASAM iLinkRT is a high-speed automation access protocol for
MC-Servers. With iLinkRT V3.0.0 a powerful communication protocol is entering the market that is independent of ASAP 3 and does not only enable data acquisition and adjustment but also complete configuration and parameterization. It can be used in multi-client as well as in multi-server architectures. Particularly with the use of multi-client applications (Test Automation, Automatic Calibration Systems, Monitor Systems) the new version is able to avoid previous disadvantages in communication with measurement and calibration systems, such as the need for multi-client adapters. In addition, the recorder concept was revised, and the standardized support of project-specific preselected devices, measurements and characteristics was added. Further features of ASAM iLinkRT are its ability to carry out calibration in parallel to the measuring as well as the efficient transmission of measured values per event.Bernd Wenzel
