Ideation Groups

Below, you will find ideas for standardization from our membership. These ideas are still in the ideation phase and need to be further developed. At this stage ASAM is seeking experts to provide feedback and/or to take part in the project groups. We invite you to support us in further specifying these projects with the goal to develop a new standard with high market relevance.

These groups are open for ASAM members and non-members to join. For more details see the FAQs

The working group and ASAM experts outlined the specific use-cases within the North America truck industry. However, the analysis showed similar standardization initiatives under development in ISO as well as limited OEM interest for the specific use case at this time. Therefore, the ASAM Board and the working group leaders decided to close this project. ASAM is evaluating a new proposal in this area.

The working group and ASAM experts specified a comprehensive use-case catalog, developed a basic technology concept, evaluated the market relevance and analyzed existing standardization initiatives already under development. The market relevance of these applications is high, and the technical concept showed a huge number of specific components required to account for all specified use-cases. Due to the high market relevance there are already a lot of standardization projects for specific components in place from different organizations (i.e. ISO 13185-2, ISO 20078 and ISO 20080, RVI, UPTANE project, AUTOMAT project). Therefore, the ASAM board and the working group leaders decided to close this full-scale project and to proceed with new ideation projects that focus more on automotive electronics engineering.
