An Update on SAE Scenario Development and Cyber Security for ADS

This presentation will provide an overview of SAE’s standards efforts in the CAV space focusing on scenario development and cyber security.  The focus of the discussion will center around a summary of the efforts from SAE’s On-Road Automated Driving Committee, specifically SAE J3164 (Taxonomy and Definitions for Terms Related to Automated Driving System Behaviors and Maneuvers for On-Road Motor Vehicles) will be discussed.  Additionally, overviews SAE’s of cyber security efforts from the Vehicle Cyber Security Systems Engineering Committee and other Systems Security and Electrical Committees will address current evolutions for SAE J3061 (Recommended Practice for Cyber-Physical Vehicle Systems) as well as protection for hardware, key management, OBD II telematics, and other works in progress.  Finally, the talk will conclude with SAE’s efforts to adjust in order to keep up with the rapidly evolving technology associated with CAV development and deployment.
