Roadside Infrastructure for Connected Driving

An interconnected and smart roadside infrastructure plays a main role in future mobility. The Smart Road Side Units (SRSU) and the Smart Traffic Light Controllers (STLC) in the digital testbed Dresden communicate with each other and present fused data to the road users as well as to the different system components to adopt new strategies for connected driving, help to realize new functions and increase the traffic safety. Furthermore, this infrastructure is failsafe and secure against attacks. In this talk we present the modular structure of the Smart Road Side Unit which has been developed in projects of the “Synchrone Mobilität 2023” and its connections to the different traffic management components with a focus on supported and possible use cases.
