About Us

ASAM e.V. (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems) promotes standardization within the Automotive Industry. Together with our membership worldwide, we develop standards that define interfaces and data models for tools used for the development and testing of electronic control units (ECUs) and for the validation of the whole vehicle. Our standards are implemented in tool chains worldwide.


We are a fast-growing community of currently more than 220 member companies worldwide. To expand our scope of activity we are looking for a


Business Development Manager


to drive future topics in ASAM (e.g. autonomous driving, telematics, etc.) and to strengthen our global presence. 



  • You monitor and analyze technical trends in the automotive industry and evaluate their potential for standardization.
  • You build networks and initiate and coordinate activities with the goal to launch new standardization projects in future-oriented areas.
  • You write technical concepts and whitepapers to initiate and market standardization activities. 
  • You raise awareness of ASAM and our portfolio at OEMs, suppliers, and tool vendors worldwide.
  • You take part in member discussions and work groups and bring in your proposals and recommendations.
  • You moderate workgroups and organizational bodies effectively and skillfully.
  • You cooperate closely with our Global Technology Managers and our Marketing Manager.

What We Expect

The ability to work independently is a must, as well as the ability to interact, coordinate and communicate with the membership of the organization in different work groups and bodies. 
Additional requirements: 

  • You have a university degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar
  • You gained work experience in automotive electronics development, and preferably also in standardization
  • You are passionate about and competent in innovative, strategic topics
  • You have knowledge in technologies for autonomous driving and telematics
  • You are familiar with standards in the area of highly-automated driving (e.g. OpenDRIVE, OpenSCENARIO, …), preferably also in the areas of measurement, calibration, diagnostics, and test data management
  • You are a collaborative team player and enjoy standardization work 
  • You have strong communication and moderation skills
  • You are able to work in a team and to build networks
  • You are fluent in German and English
  • You are self-organized and have a structured way of working
  • You are proactive, confident, and assertive
  • You are willing to travel
