What’s in it for me?
As a supplier involved with ASAM standards, there are numerous benefits from not only implementing ASAM standards, but joining the ASAM association and actively participating, some of which are:
- With the use of ASAM standards, in the long term, each supplier has a reduced development risk. Since you are sharing your knowledge and developing solutions across many organizations, with both partners and competitors, the risk of a technological one way street or erroneous development trends is significantly reduced. The more involved, the less risk.
- Working together with other suppliers allows you to gain a transparent market overview. You gain information purely by involvement in the process, be it through developing, networking in meetings, or purely through the access to people who do what you do. Where else can you work side-by-side with your competitors and partners? You may teach someone something, or learn something to improve your business from this collaboration.
- Here amongst the group of standard developers, you can represent your own interests and influence standards development. Whether you are driving the process or contributing your requirements, your voice is heard and considered in this process to benefit all. If you don’t participate, be sure your competition will.
- ASAM provides a platform for communication, networking and an easy information exchange between suppliers and suppliers and suppliers and OEMs. Some of the world’s largest OEMs are members of this organization. Some of these OEMs make ASAM a requirement to do business with them. If your interests match their interests in ASAM, why wouldn’t you want access to them and their business?
- ASAM is an international standards organization which is gaining great recognition and momentum in the world. With more than 120 members (and growing), ASAM has the reputation of a high class and respectable association, providing standards that are proven in the industry.
